I am interviewed in the current issue of Sisif, a Romanian literary and cultural online journal. The sublime photographer-poet-blogger Roxana Ghita conducted the interview and has also translated several of my poems into Romanian. An excellent interview - the questions and the answers. I'll have to re-read it a few times, recently I've been thinking a lot about some of the things you both mention. Well done both of you, I really enjoyed it!
Thank you, Sorlil. What sort of issues have you been thinking about?
I guess basically 'what is poetry, true poetry, poetry that matters. Something wider and deeper than personal or sociological observation. Poetry that connects to something much larger than oneself.
Don't know if you know much about Kenneth White or his geopoetics - (http://geopoetics.org.uk/pages/what-is-geopoetics.php).
I don't buy into it all but I find it interesting in relation to poetry.

Sorlil: The big, unanswerable questions. I'm sure real poetry connects to somethings larger than onself, but I'm still trying to figure out to what. I get a different answer every day. If you find any better answers, or even any better questions, let me know....
I do know a little about Kenneth White --- but only because I've followed the link from your blog :-) I agree, very interesting, if a bit dodgy in places....

and now i notice that you managed to place carefully that 'poet' in between, i hadn't even seen it the first time, being blinded by 'sublime' - you do make me laugh, James - i mean, it is your blog, but surely there must be some lines which have to be drawn somewhere :-)))))))
