Winter has been with us forever this year, so it seems. I love the third pic down - the frozen water is irresistible and the sea grasses stand so tall.

A little humility, it teaches us the winter this year. It seems endless, but I have decided to commit myself entirely to its rhythm and its beauty. You, too, as it seems. Because these pictures show it to me - its charms lie in the reduction and in the changed perspective. Simply wonderful. I embrace you

Please, would you help me telling me how you got the Google translator on your blog? I'd like to have it on my blog, to let readers who don't know french language know what I am publishing.
Thank you very much.

Cîntec de iarnă

Esti atît de frumoasa, iarna!
Cîmpul întins pe spate, lîngă orizont,
şi copacii opriţi, din fuga crivăţului…
Îmi tremura nările
şi nici o mireasmă,
şi nici o boare,
doar mirosul îndepartat, de gheaţă,
al sorilor.
Ce limpezi sînt mîinile tale, iarna!
Si nu trece nimeni
doar sorii albi se rotesc linistit, idolatru
şi gîndul creşte-n cercuri
sonorizînd copacii
cîte doi,
cîte patru.

it really fits the mood of your pictures, i think :-) i also have a good translation, but i thought you might want to read it first yourself, it's really not so difficult (she says, smiling playfully :-)

Sorlil: Irresistible, you're right. I had to walk across the ice.... It's too bad that I never learned to skate as a child. Opportunities are abundant around here.

Aripe de fluture: Mulțumesc. Cred că vântul se schimbă astăzi …o căldură în aerul….

Isabella: In the winter, everything is only itself, all pretense stripped away, bones and desire, and I am small under such a sky....

Krista: I would bet that your winter lasts even longer than mine. Somebody told me the other day: How do you know when its summer in northern Indiana? By the glow of the 4th of July fireworks refecting off the icicles..."

Lady Jo: Le climat global devient de plus en plus étrange, c’est évident. On a créé des problèmes profounds, et il faundra beaucoup d’années pour s’en débrouiller, si c’est possible….

Anne: Thank you for that optimistic thought ... and your are right, of course :-)

James Owens said...

Susan: Indeed they will. You know, I've always thought hibernation would be a good way to spend the winter... do bears dream of spring?

Roxana: Thank you, it's a lovely poem, and it fits the mood perfectly :-)

I think I am reading it pretty accurately -- amazing!! -- I may post a translation here in the comments, after going back over it again to make sure....

Love winter and snow's picures... Maybe because I am from a tropical country (Brazil)

Sonia: Well, you may not have snow in Brazil ... but I don't have the Amazon!

Bonjour James,
